| 89 MINS | COLOUR | HAMMER |

OVERVIEW

After being sentenced to die at the hands of the guillotine, Baron Frankenstein is saved, at the last minute, by his paid accomplices, a hunchback, Karl, and the executioner.

He leaves for Germany and sets up a practice in Carlsbruck where he goes by the name of Dr Stein. Here he caters to the whims of his wealthy clientele. He also sets up a hospital for the poor, not for charitable reasons but so he can get access to the body parts that he needs for his researches.

With his assistant Dr Hans Kleve and the hunchback Karl to help him, he plans to transplant Karl's brain into a new body. Karl gives his full approval to the operation, and it proves to be a great success. However, later when Karl is attacked by a violent nightwatchman his brain is damaged, and his body begins to change back into its former crippled state. The creature goes on a murderous rampage and the evil influence of Frankenstein is unleashed once again.
